STOMATOLOGY LESSON SINCE 1999
Proposal of free stomatological prevention.
To the heads of schools and kindergartens.
We are conducting a charity campaign promoting health and prevention.
Since 1999 we have been organising the campaign entitled "A lesson of Stomatology"
(1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).
The campaign has health-promoting and educational objectives. So far we have served more
than 11,500 thousand children.
During the campaign children play in a surgery. We give them instruction on the hygiene
of the oral cavity and nutrition, we perform a check-up, using a camera placed inside the
oral cavity we show children on the monitor their teeth - defects, calculus and deposit.
For parents we prepare a detailed description of the most urgent stomatological needs of
the child. The children are given presents (toothbrushes, toothpastes, and other) and a
certificate, thanks to which they can have teeth jewellery for PLN 9
(the cost in other surgeries - PLN 150-200). It is another stage of health promotion.
Researches have shown, that wearing visible jewellery on the teeth mobilises for a better
hygiene and dental care.
What is most important, we reduce, and usually eliminate, stomatological stress.
Recently our treatments (thanks to our sponsors) have been expanded by professional
tooth brushing and very effective preventive treatments - fluorination with a veneer
and protection of the furrows by covering with lake. This school year we are prepared
to accept 20 thousand children. As new sponsors join the campaign we will give children
means facilitating hygiene of the oral cavity. We will accept children between 10,00 and 11,00 am.
