EMDOGAIN® GEL
The causal treatment of infections of paradontium tissues, which lead to bone losses, is of
key importance in the therapy of patients with paradentosis.
Surgical treatment with the application of Emdogein formula allows to reconstruct
the functional attachment.
A precondition of the operation is a proper condition of the oral cavity, without signs
of active infection.
Deep gingival pocket
A radiological examination shows the presence of a deep loss of the bone.
The results of the treatment are evaluated basing on X-ray film performed in the
standard technique before the operation and after a specified period of observation.
A functional attachment and a new bone of the alveolar process
A clinical examination should not be performed earlier than after 6 months from the date
of the operation. The new functional attachment is constructed from root cement, dental
alveolus ligament of the bone of the alveolar process.
Twelve months after treatment with Emdogein formula.
One year after the treatment an X-ray film is made of the area using the same technique
as before the operation, and the treatment results are evaluated.
The regeneration process takes many years.
After-treatment procedure
For 3-6 months after the operation the patient should rinse the oral cavity with
an antiseptic solution (e.g. 0,1-0,2% of chlorhexidine ).
In some cases application of antibiotics may be necessary.
The sutures are removed after 1-3 weeks, provided the wound is stable.
Sometimes it is recommend to apply professional cleaning of the teeth in a surgery.
The teeth in the treated area can be delicately brushed from the cheek and tongue side
3 weeks after the operation; brushing the inter-teeth areas and gum grooves ca be
performed only after 6 weeks.
The patient has to be informed about the principles
of using dental floss and about the importance of the stability of the postoperative wound.
